This opinion piece article presents an argument for the importance of vendor neutral technology in a hospital setting. Several hospital and healthcare leaders share their thoughts about how and why using vendor neutral applications is critical for the financial well-being of organizations. As new forms of technology develop and evolve, it is critical to have systems in place that can integrate with new hardware and software. When dependent on provider applications, hospitals miss out on opportunities to expand and grow with new technologies due to high-costs and lack of cross-compatibility between applications.
